Manufacturing details

The painted collage frames are made entirely in the USA and manufactured from poplar wood, which is a renewable resource. These frames are hardwood with separate interior wood frames surrounded by a single outer wood frame. They include glass and hardware is pre-installed so that your frame can hang horizontally or vertically. These frames DO NOT have matting, although you may install a matte if desired. Each of the photo openings are separate, and are backed with cardboard with flexible push-points. Just bend the flexpoints back and remove the cardboard to install your own photos.

Can you build custom sizes?

Our painted collage picture frames are built locally from poplar wood, a renewable resource, and we have quite a bit of flexibility in sizes. You can order as few as two openings and as many as seven. Standard opening sizes include 4x6, 5x5, 5x7, 8x8, and 8x10 sizes. Openings can be built in with either a horizontal or a vertical photo opening (landscape or portrait), although all openings need to be the same configuration. It is not possible to mix landscape and portrait openings in the same frame. Windowpane frames have four openings in a window pane configuration, and are available in 5x5, 5x7, 8x8, and 8x10 sizes.

What do you mean by "distressed" paint?

The standard paint finish on the painted collage frames is always hand-distressed around the edges of the frames, unless you request otherwise. The term "distressed" refers to the fact that we lightly sand the paint off from the outer and inner edges of the frame molding. This is not a defect in the workmanship. This is done purposely to make the the different depths of the molding more visible, making your frame more attractive as it hangs on the wall. You can request "no sanding" on your collage frame, if you prefer the unsanded wood.

How long for shipping?

Typically, the black-painted frames are in stock and can ship immediately. Frames in other colors are made-to-order and require from 1-2 weeks of lead time for painting. Shipping takes anywhere from 2-5 business days, depending on your location.

Reclaimed Wood (Barnwood) Collage Frames (Model numbers starting with MF)

We also manufacture a line of reclaimed wood collage picture frames. These are available with standard opening sizes 4x6, 5x7, 8x8, and 8x10. We can typically build custom-size openings for a small additional fee. Our barnwood collage frames are especially fun for customers who want to spell out their surname in architectural lettering.

Manufacturing details

The barnwood collage frames are made entirely in the USA and manufactured from 100% reclaimed wood. These eco-friendly "green" collage frames are a customer favorite and are available with or without a small decorative wood "cornerblock." These collage frames are generally built from reclaimed pine or cedar. Glass is included, and hardware is typically included separately so that you can decide whether to hang frames horizontally or vertically. Photo openings are separate, and backed with cardboard. Flexible push points make it easy for you to install or remove photographs. Glass can be removed if you prefer to showcase 3-dimensional items inside of the photo openings.

As with the painted collage frames, custom sizes are available. Standard opening sizes include 4x6, 5x5, 5x7, 8x8, and 8x10 sizes. Openings can be built in with either a horizontal or a vertical photo opening (landscape or portrait). 

How long for shipping?

All barnwood collage frames are made-to-order. Average build time is 2-3 business days, and shipping takes 2-5 business days. You can expect to receive your reclaimed wood collage picture frame within two weeks of ordering.
