Mountain Woods Rustic Furniture
Located in Wyoming, USA, Mountain Woods Furniture handcrafts a variety of beautiful log and reclaimed wood furniture pieces. Founded in 1991, Mountain Woods has been building quality rustic furniture for over two decades. That longevity helps assure that if you need to add to your collection in the future, you'll be able to find a piece of comparable quality, style and color.
As a founding member of the Sustainable Furniture Council, Mountain Woods has been committed to eco-friendly business practices since its inception. Not only are their award-winning designs functional, they are also artistically crafted. Because they use time-tested construction techniques, such as dovetail drawers, mortise and tenon construction and top quality hardware, this company's log furniture will provide use and enjoyment for generations. Building log furniture is an art, and the craftsmen and women at Mountain woods are masters at selecting beautiful wood and then bringing out all of its best characteristics. Joints are "glued and screwed" to make sure they can withstand years of use.
Aspen Log Furniture - Sustainable Beauty
Aspen used in this furniture line is primarily built from "dead standing wood." Removing dead trees helps limit the danger of forest wildfires and is considered to be healthy for the forest ecosystem. Once the logs are harvested, bark is carefully peeled back with a drawblade, and then each log is hand-sanded to bring out its natural color and charm.
Aspen Log Furniture Finishes:
Because no rustic retreat should ever be anything less than one-of-a-kind, Mountain Woods offers several finishing options
-
Darker, Bronze Aspen Stain
-
Extra Gnarly Wood

Bronze Aspen Stain

Extra Gnarly Upgrade
After combing the forests for wood with a lot of extra character, these pieces are constructed with wood that has a lot of extra bumps, knots, and colors. Because each piece of wood is totally unique, extra time is required to build this one-of-a-kind furniture (it's impossible to build two pieces of extra gnarly furniture exactly alike). For this reason, there is an upgrade charge applied.
Pine and Blue-stain Pine
Most log furniture pieces in the Mountain Woods line can be built from pine, rather than aspen wood. When you request it, furniture can be built from blue-stain pine--a unique wood infused with rich blue and gray hues that run throughout the grain of the wood. This unique coloration is caused by beetles that attack and eventually kill the tree.
Fabrics
When choosing upholstered chairs, cushions, and ottoman covers, Mountain woods offers a wide selection fo beautiful, rich, rustic fabrics. If you want to match other fabrics in your home, we will work with you to create the perfect look.
Reclaimed Wood (Barnwood) Furniture
The beautiful Wyoming Collection uses reclaimed, weathered wood. Significant quantities of this wood are collected from government-sponsored efforts to re-build Wyoming snow fencing. This wood features unique texture, color and patina, and you'll appreciate the fine craftsmanship in this line as well. Available for bedroom, dining room, and living room, these unique furniture pieces are also built using environmentally-friendly manufacturing processes. With the same high quality roller glides and dovetailed drawers of its log furniture cousin, the Wyoming Collection is a customer favorite.
To maintain that “outdoors” ambiance, we’ve finished our rustic furniture with a clear-coat stain that allows the natural wood-grains to shine through the furniture. Our logs are treated, primed, kiln dried, and constructed to allow for possible
settling. Our joints are built to withstand the test of time, and help your rustic furniture last for as long as the trees they came from.
We source our logs from only North American timber, and pick our logs so that they have similar grain patterns for each piece of rustic furniture. Many times we hear the comment “It looks like it grew that way”. Rustic furniture is at its best when mother-nature, and superb craftsmanship meet.
