How Many Openings Do You Need
Our Rustic Collage Frames are handcrafted from a variety of new and reclaimed wood. We offer unique barnwood collage frames and beautiful painted frames too. Our collection of collage frames just keeps growing, and if you don't see something you like here, consider purchasing a group of two or more of our regular frames and hanging them from a decorative rod or ribbon to create your own multi-photo display.
Custom-made rustic collage frames
Many of our frames are built right in-house, so we have the option of making a few simple alterations and crafting the perfect frame to fit your needs. You'll see standard-size openings, such as 8x10 and 5x7, but if you need a less-common opening size, such as 5x5 or 8x8, we can typically build what you need. Just give us 7-10 days of lead time.
Rustic Wall Hangings for the Do-it-Yourselfer
For the college student leaving home for the first time, the Grandma who has everything, or as a unique wedding gift, collage frames are especially versatile and make great "heartfelt" gifts. You can include all kinds of things inside of a collage frame. If you remove the glass, you can even install three-dimensional items. Make a tribute to your son's football team by including a team photo in one opening, the medal from the regional championships in another, and the letter from his high school athletic jacket in a third. If you're looking for a unique surprise to celebrate Grandma and Grandpa's 50th wedding anniversary, find several photos of the two of them that span each of the 5 decades they've been together. Add silk flowers in some openings like we've done in our window pane frame above, and adhere vinyl lettering right to the glass in another opening, or simply print a favorite saying on a colorful piece of scrapbook paper. Shop at dime stores for old album covers or dust covers from favorite children's books. Find pretty greeting cards with photos of your favorite wildflowers. A handmade rustic wall hanging sends the message that "You were important enough to me to justify a little bit of extra time and effort."
Create Custom Colors
If you love wood frames but rustic wood isn't your preference, we offer a variety of new collage frames. As an alternative, you can paint or stain one of our rustic barnwood collage frames to make it completely unique or to match the color of your own decor. To maintain that "distressed" look after you've painted a frame, we recommend a light sanding on the edges or corners.
Mementos and Photos...Add a Little of Both
Not only were you lucky enough to inherit a photo of grandpa with his big trike that was taken at the turn of the century, you also have a pair of his old cufflinks. You can create a unique antique wall hanging simply by removing the glass in one section of your frame and adhering your 3-D items directly to the backing. We recommend you use acid-free backings for your heirloom mementos. If you're creating a rock-and-roll tribute, choose a rustic collage frame, add an old 45 record from your favorite band, the ticket stubs from the day you went to their concert, and a photo of you and your high school friends waiting outside of the stadium.
Create a Unique Mirror
Create a one-of-a-kind transom mirror or window pane mirror by replacing any of the glass panes in your collage frame with standard-size mirror, available at any craft store or glass supply outlet. You can even call our customer service line and we'll do it for you for a small fee. The number is 888-OLD-BARN.
Create a Custom Rustic Wallhanging
Personalize your frame by adding custom lettering. Purchase vinyl stickers at your favorite online outlet, or just print your favorite quote or saying onto colorful scrapbook paper. Choose a three-opening frame and add photos of your infant in two of the openings, then print her name and birthdate in the center opening. If you've been looking for a way to showcase that John Wayne autograph, frame the signed paper in one opening and add old movie posters or prints in other openings. Frame a grouping of four antique crate labels, or combine several postcards from your childhood collection. There are so many unique ways to fill up a rustic collage frame!
