Building Birdhouses

Several years ago I designed and started building our popular Barnwood Birdhouse. 

My first bird house was bright blue. I set it up in the front yard and before long we had several neighbors asking for one.  On one occasion, our neighbor’s mother was in town. She asked if I could make her one before she returned to California. I knew I wouldn’t have time to get to it before she left, so I offered her mine. 

She unfortunately got more than she bargained when halfway way home, bees starting emerging in her car. “Beehive included” wasn’t exactly what she had in mind when she loaded the birdhouse and headed for home. 

Over the years, my Barnwood Birdhouse has grown in popularity. It’s been fun to see them popup around our town as well as shipping them off throughout the U.S.
