The outer edge is created from edging on old barnwood fencing and the inner frame face is rough reclaimed wood stained a deep black. The beautiful texture of the natural barnwood is preserved in these rough-hewn planks. This popular frame is 2 1/2 inches wide, with a 1/2 inch barnwood border. The result is that you get a matted portrait without the expense of a matte. The barnwood itself becomes the matte for the picture it frames.
